About The Appalachian Daughter

Thank you for taking the time to visit The Appalachian Daughter. This blog is about all the wonderful people and places in North Carolina. I hope it leaves you with something positive!

My name is Maddison Sutton and I am from a long line of hard-working North Carolina natives. I was blessed to be brought up in a close and loving family from the town of Holly Springs, North Carolina.

Growing up with a father who built and owns his own company, Sutton’s Cabinet Shop, I have seen the hard work, dedication, and love that it takes to build and maintain your own business. I want to praise the people all over North Carolina that are doing the very same thing that my dad still does.

I truly believe those people are the backbone of our communities. They are the people that remind us what really matters; our families, our friends, and our neighbors.

I went to Appalachian State for college where I majored in Geography and joined Chi Omega Fraternity. Going to Appalachian State has been one of the best decisions that I have ever made, it gave me a love for the outdoors and the mountains. It also helped show me how simple and joyful life can be.

My hope for this blog is to create a place for people to share and promote their local business, spread the good word about things going on in their communities, and promote a healthy and natural lifestyle.

If you are a North Carolina business owner I would love to hear from you! I would also love to hear about all of the positive things going on in your community!

For those that might be visiting North Carolina, I hope this blog leaves you feeling welcome and excited to explore!
